Steam's got a new rule that puts the kibosh on 'certain kinds of adult only content' that make Visa and Mastercard sad

Devs are biting their nails over a new Steam rule that prohibits—in painfully vague terms—certain kinds of content on its platform. The new rule (seemingly introduced incredibly recently, and definitely introduced since the https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/gettingstarted/onboarding">Wayback Machine's last Steam rules snapshot from April 14 this year) forbids "Content that may violate the rules and standards set forth by Steam’s payment processors and related card networks and banks, or internet network providers."
In other words: keep Visa, Mastercard, and PayPal happy or sling your hook. How do you do that? Valve doesn't say, only noting that particular care should be taken with "certain kinds of adult only content." No elaboration is offered as to what kinds of adult-only content that means, leaving NSFW devs groping in the dark to appease payments processors.
I've reached out to Valve to ask for clarification on this rule, and I'll update this piece if I hear back.
But while we wait, maybe we can connect some dots. As spotted by SteamDB on Bluesky, the new rule coincided with the sudden removal of a significant number of incest-themed adult games from Steam's storefront. Anyone who had any number of the Interactive Sex or Sex Adventures games on their wishlist should have bought them sooner: they've been suddenly and unceremoniously yoinked.

RStudio has just released a new update for its graphics mod for the original Crysis game, Crysis Enhanced. This mod is a must for those who are still playing the original version, and not the remaster. So, let’s see what it brings to the table.
The 2025 Update for Crysis Enhanced makes the game look much better. It improves the visuals in every level, including the lighting, textures, and shaders. Almost all surfaces in the game now have new and higher-quality textures.
Even though the graphics are much better, the mod still keeps the original look and style of the game. It’s like playing the classic Crysis, but with a fresh coat of paint. This update is perfect for players who love the original game but want it to look more modern.
The modder has also improved the game’s baked lighting and the dead body ragdolls. You can also expect some cool and improved real-time reflections. Not only that, but the mod adds Screen Space Shadows on weapons, NPCs, player’s arms. Plus, there are improvements to the shadows on water and the ocean waves.
RStudio has also put a lot of work into the FlowGraph for every level to make sure the game runs better. This means you should see fewer crashes while playing. In the original game, the last level had a big problem with crashing. But now, the game should be more stable and smoother to play. Or at least that’s what the mod’s description implies.
