Reading posts and comments it looks like there was a rumor of a cancelled scifi game that happened at some point, personally I know nothing about that supposed cancelled game BUT this particular conversation that I made my post about it's from a thread in resetera (https://www.resetera.com/threads/playstation-studios-ot46-back-to-the-beach.1172010/page-406) where insiders are part of it and it's about Cory Barlog's new game that he has been working on since he finished his responsibilities with God of War R.
So it's still two teams nothing has been canceled or just started but the conversation now it's about how a lot of people thought Barlog's new game would be scifi and it isn't, also about how it's an existing IP but reworked for it to feel new.
