Then again I just had a thought that the 5% NATO agreement comes with the clause that any contributions to Ukraine are counted in valuating whether a country is hitting the 5% threshold, so it might be easy for some countries to quickly hit the 5% threshold by simply buying a shit ton of American equipment on behalf of Ukraine without actually having to massively ramp up their own military industries.

But that 5% agreement isn't a rule, it's not a demand, it's just a gentleman's agreement, it isn't enforceable in any way.
