Hezbollah chief says no normalisation with Israel

Naim Qassem has delivered a speech on the ongoing tensions with Israel:

  • We are confronting the Israeli enemy in defence of our country and will continue even if the entire world unites to dissuade us.
  • Our goal is to keep the flame of resistance burning despite difficult circumstances.
  • We are ready for peace and for building Lebanon, but we are also prepared to confront and defend our country.
  • Once the first phase of the ceasefire agreement is achieved, we will discuss Lebanon’s defence strategy.
  • We will not be part of legitimising the occupation in Lebanon, and we will not accept normalisation.

Two IRGC members killed defusing explosives left by Israeli forces

Two members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have been killed while trying to defuse explosives in an area of western Iran hit by Israeli strikes last month, according to Iran’s Tasnim news agency.

Citing a statement from the IRGC, the report said: “Two members of the Guards were killed Sunday in Khorramabad while clearing the area of explosives left by the Zionist regime’s aggression.”

Israeli strikes during the 12-day war killed more than 900 people across Iran, its judiciary said.
