AI has a HUGE problem it needs to address, the absurd (and fast growing) amount of water and energy their servers need to keep running. The AI companies' answer to that has been to just suck it up and keep feeding them more water and energy, but that's not sustainable, it will reach a limit in a not so distant future, and they will have to figure out how to make AI much more sustainable for the technology to really stay.

And with that you have the proof that we are not 5 minutes to 12 on climate disaster as EU politicians are claiming. Not if at the same time they promote AI and 5G (which is also more energy consuming than 4G) and keep on expanding datacentres and digitalization. This is a huge political hypocrisy at least in my country (Netherlands).
