I agree with that, but believe it or not, there has been a considerable amount of support for ukraine by republicans over this issue.  Here's a couple of articles on republicans response, all of which were written written within the last few days or so.  It seems like there is some support from republicans for Ukraine, and most of the democrats.  This isn't a hopeless cause, and agree with everything you said.
