It's long known that AMD launch drivers aren't exactly great, which is why they gain so much performance as new drivers gets released, but this time around they had extra time to polish them before launch and they certainly did, as they were more stable than ever.
The fact that AMD has managed to squeeze some extra performance out of them, and more than Nvidia did with their cards, is kind of surprising this time around.

At least DIY buyers know what they're doing. Well, most of them.
But those 8GB cards are primarily destined for the OEM market, and we won't get numbers from them.
