That's the era of Xbox that she continues to hold on to, and fairly so. She was there when the good times were rolling. But even she can't comprehend how big Xbox is now, and accept the path they're aiming for. Why this latest video of hers is what's caught wind online since her messaging has been the same throughout her channels brief history, who knows lol. Like yes, we all would love it if Xbox continued with the success and competitiveness they had during the 360 era, but the second the Xbone was shown off, that cemented that Xbox could not continue competing in the console market the way they had been. Something clearly had to change. |
We know for a fact Xbox would be dead if it continued like it was too, Satya ain't been shy at hiding that, the dude has no issue in cutting down entire business units and is very cutthroat, the only reason Xbox is alive is because Phil sold Satya on the idea of Subscription Services and xCloud - xCloud means Xbox would have been everywhere and they would have absolutely put xCloud on PlayStation if they could, I think multiplatform was always the end goal but they originally wanted to do it via xCloud, Activision-Blizzard accelerated things and xCloud didn't take off as much as hoped so they moved to a native approach after seeing how much money it brings in.
According to public knowledge Satya came close to shutting down Xbox entirely at least once, the dude on the stand straight up said he dislikes exclusives and if it were up to him, Xbox would be fully multiplatform everywhere, well as the CEO of Microsoft it is up to him, Lol. It's clear Satya hates the idea of exclusives, I have absolutely zero doubt that if Xbox was still doing full exclusives and focused on desperately trying to claw back console market share in a futile battle with Sony, Satya would have 100% shut down Xbox and been done with it long ago so he can redirect that money on Cloud and AI. The dude is brutal and doesn't care about brand image, only making money, and 3rd party makes them far more money.
If Xbox was doing what Laura wants it to do, it would be dead.
