A new report by Ars Technica shows SteamOS matching or outright beating Windows gaming performance in a suite of five recent games on the Lenovo Legion Go S, while testing by YouTuber Dave2D showed an additional four games where SteamOS either handily beats Windows, or trails by just one frame.
PC Gamer hardware writer Jacob Fox's review of the Go S adds yet another three games where SteamOS comes out on top, bringing us to a record of 10 wins, zero losses, and two ties for Valve.
The Legion Go S is the first device with official drivers and support for both operating systems, allowing for an apples to apples comparison we just couldn't swing before. We gave the Windows version a 72%, while the SteamOS variant nabbed an Editor's Pick 91% score from Jacob.

MODS, EMULATORS & FAN PROJECTS

YouTube’s ‘John GodGames Emus’ has shared a video, showcasing the latest version of shadPS4 running inFAMOUS Second Son, Killzone: Shadow Fall, and God of War 3 Remastered.

Now, as you will see, inFAMOUS Second Son and Killzone: Shadow Fall are nowhere close to being playable. Both of these games run at really low framerates. On the other hand, God of War 3 Remastered runs with 50-60FPS, but it’s full of visual artifacts. Still, the fact that the emulator can launch and go in-game is a huge deal.
In this video, we also get to see Driveclub. Driveclub’s performance is not that great here. To capture the gameplay footage, the YouTuber used an AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D with 64GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070. As we can see via the Performance Overlay, both the GPU and CPU were underused. So, I don’t know why the game was only running with 40FPS.
We also get to see KNACK and The Last Guardian. Sadly, though, both of them have major visual issues. That’s a bummer but hey, by the end of 2025, we might be able to play both of them.

Oblivion Remastered Got a New Witcher-Inspired DLC-Sized Mod

Modder ‘AlexPreit’ has made a fun new mod for Oblivion Remastered that’s inspired by The Witcher games. In this mod, you go on a quest to find and defeat five bosses. If you win, you’ll get the Viper Armor, Viper Blades, and some cool Witcher magic signs.
Going into more details, the pieces of the Viper Gear will add extra protection based on Light Armor Skill. The mod will gift you with two iconic Blades in the shape of Claymores. The Steel blade will inflict more damage to the NPCs, whereas the Silver blade is for fighting creatures. This is exactly how the swords work in The Witcher games.
Path of the Witcher adds 5 magic signs: Aard, Igni, Axii, Quen, and Yrden. Each sign has 5 levels, from Novice to Master. You can also make them stronger by learning more in the matching school of magic.
All in all, this is a cool fan expansion that a lot of The Witcher fans will enjoy. And hey. This is new free content. So there’s no reason not to download it and give it a try.
To start the quest, you’ll have to fight one of the bosses. As the modder noted, the easiest is Cloud Top north of Chorrol or Veyond Cave exterior north of Bravil.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 finally gets a minimap, thanks to a mod

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is one of the best games of 2025. However, for some weird reason, the game did not have a minimap. I don’t know why the devs did not include one, as it may put off a number of players. Thankfully, there is a mod that attempts to address this issue.
Created by paboyafx, this mod adds a functional in-game minimap. Once you have installed it, you can press M to show or hide the minimap while playing the game. You can also press “Num -” to zoom out and “Num +” to zoom in. Zoom multiplier is limited to 0.25X to 3X.
And that’s that. This is a great QoL improvement. So, I highly recommend using this custom minimap. From what I know, it’s compatible with the latest game version. So, you won’t likely encounter any issues.
There are two simple ways to install the mod. You can use Mod Loader or UE4SS Experimental. Both methods are explained on the NexusMods page, where you can also download it. At the end of the article, you can also find a video for it. This video showcases the mod in action. So, be sure to watch it as it can give you an idea of what you can expect from it.

Resident Evil: Revelations just got a must-have HD Texture Pack

Modder ‘Evgeshajk’ has released a must-have HD Texture Pack for the PC version of Resident Evil: Revelations. This pack will upgrade all of the game’s low-res textures. As such, it’s a must for everyone who wants to replay this RE game.
Resident Evil: Revelations first came out only on the Nintendo 3DS. Later, in 2013, Capcom brought the game to consoles and PC. The PC version did have slightly better graphics than the 3DS, but not by much. And now, in 2025, the game looks blurry and outdated.
And that’s where this HD Texture Pack comes in. Thanks to it, PC gamers can enjoy a much better-looking game. That’s a good thing as Resident Evil: Revelations was actually a pretty good RE game.
The modder used AI tools to improve the game’s original textures. Thanks to this, the new textures still look like the old ones but are much clearer and sharper. This HD Texture Pack is really impressive, so make sure to use it out.

Back during the hype cycle for Fallout 3, a common refrain of skeptics was that Bethesda had simply made 'Oblivion with guns'—in effect creating some kind of total overhaul mod for The Elder Scrolls 4 that subtracted the spellcrafting and added in shotguns. Sadly, what we actually got was a game about chasing Liam Neeson through 4,000 subway stations. But what could have been, eh?
But great ideas never die, they just go on the shelf. That's presumably why an Oblivion Remastered modder named CosmicBoogaloo has created the aptly named Glock mod for Oblivion Remastered. It boasts that it is the "first functional gun in Oblivion Remastered," and boy, functional sure is one word for it. See below for a video of our hero blasting his way through an Oblivion Tower like it's Hard Boiled.
I continue to be very impressed by what modders can jury-rig together in Oblivion Remastered even absent an official modding toolkit. This one works, as you might have guessed, by contorting the game's archery system into an unholy new shape. Glock is built atop another mod called Slick Archery, from a creator named Dicene, that lets you muck about with the time each phase of the bow-shooting process takes.
So Glock simply sets that time to 0 seconds—an instant maximum-draw-and-fire—and swaps out a bow model for a gun. Shuffle in the right sound effects, bullets in place of arrows and a gun holster to serve as a quiver, and you've successfully created the adventures of John Oblivion, cop on the edge.
