If Russia really wanted to help Iran they could easily strategically place Russian troops in key areas of Iran and then Trump wouldn't dare to attack Iran anymore, he would piss his pants like he has done against any form of direct confrontation with Russia (verbal or militarily) but obviously Russia wouldn't do that because they need their troops to die in Ukraine.
