Settlers attack village near Ramallah: Report

Wafa, citing local sources, is reporting that settlers under the protection of Israeli forces have attacked the village of Deir Jarir, east of Ramallah.

The Palestinian news agency said local residents confronted the settlers an in an effort to repel the attack and that Israeli forces fired live ammunition and stun grenades at the residents. No injuries were reported.

The occupied West Bank is home to more than 3 million Palestinians who live under Israeli military rule with the Palestinian Authority governing in limited areas. Israel has so far built more than 100 settlements across the West Bank, which are home to about 500,000 settlers.
