I didn't hear of these titles, you think they're permanent exclusives? Consoles have an absolutely massive active playerbase and many games still sell better on them, would be dumb af to skip them altogether in today's climate no matter how cool and popular PC is among kids.

They were big streamer games for a while and it was said during the SGF showcase that the former has already sold over 13 million since February. They probably won't be permanent but big hits like that coming out there first still matters a lot and even if it's not fully exclusive them always coming to PC right away is a really big deal. Like from October 2023 through February 2024 you had games like Lethal Company, Palworld and Helldivers 2 and PC had all three right away while Xbox and Playstation only had 1 each at the time.

I'm not saying games like this should skip consoles, just pointing out the importance of viral games being increasingly PC dominant. People talk about exclusivity a lot but not enough about that aspect I feel since it's a huge factor in why exclusivity still benefits the platform a lot more than Playstation and especially Xbox.

If PC loses the exclusivity to iconic games that define it, then the identity takes a hit similar to when God of War, Spider-Man, The Last of Us etc are no longer tied to Playstation. That these games are super popular on PC is beside the point. Sony's games generally sell a lot better on Playstation than on PC despite the latter's huge install base advantage. This doesn't change the fact that PC players do have access to them without the need to pay for a console.

PC, PS5, and Xbox are very similar platforms as far as relevant games. If you own one of them, you will have access to the vast majority of relevant games.

PC sells great and keeps gaining popularity because modern consoles hardly offer anything it can't do. So unlike Nintendo consoles, a strong "identity" is not really needed. People just want to play good games, and PC is in a lot of ways the best place to play them.
