So it's time for demos again? Let's see...I've played only two so far:

Hell is Us - I had to check this out due to recent system requirements "controversy" (any controversy is marketing)...nothing to write about in that regard, it runs perfectly fine. But I was surprised with game - I didn't like the setting (civil war of some sort, with what are, presumably, some demonic aliens), but as Soul-ish game, it focuses way, way more on exploration than on combat for combat's sake, as is the case with many Souls-likes these days. It has "your current health is your max stamina" mechanics, which some people might not like, but I find it refreshing.

I forgot to check if this game had a demo, so thanks for posting this. The fact that it's not a Souls-like game is part of what makes me interested in it. I have neither the time nor the patience to memorize the attack patterns of all the enemies I encounter, and the exploration side looks challenging but not overly so. I'll be able to check if the GTX 1070 listed as minimum works or not (if Steam doesn't ghost me and lets me download it).

In any case, I downloaded a bunch of demos yesterday, but I still haven't played any yet. My priority, tho, will be Cleared Hot, because it has strong vibes of the old Desert/Jungle/Urban Strike games from EA, and looks like it could be fun.

By the way, I noticed that a bunch of old-ish games already released got demos as well. If there's a game on your wishlist that you want to try, maybe you're lucky nad has been gifted a demo.

Oh, that's a good find, I loved Desert Strike back in days on Amiga 500.

As for Hell is Us, you will probably need to use either UE5's built in upscaling, or XeSS (since, IIRC, 1070 doesn't have DLSS).

Forgotlings - this is 2D side perspective..hm...I don't know what genre this is actually - there is action, adventuring, puzzle platforming, apparently RPG elements as well... I really liked this one a lot for it's gameplay, characters, atmosphere, world building and beautiful Studio Ghibli styled art.

This reminded me of Forgotton Anne even before they said it's in the same universe, so I think gameplay will be very similar, as it also had that mix of 2D platforming with adventure and puzzles and a pinch of RPG.

Never heard about Forgotten Anne before watching their dev diaries, so I'll definitively have to check it at some point.
