One of Microsoft's conditions seem to be confusing names.

ROG Ally / ROG Xbox Ally / ROG Ally X / ROG Xbox Ally X.

At least they could have named the announced "ROG Xbox Ally" the "ROG Xbox Ally S"... both to differentiate it from the first "ROG Ally" and to keep the low tier / high tier classes S + X similar to "Xbox One S / X" and "Xbox Series S / X".

Yeah I feel like they should have gotten rid of ROG in the name and went with Xbox Ally S & Xbox Ally X

That would have been a much nicer name but since it's an ASUS product, I imagine they want their brand to take first billing, it is very much an ASUS product first and foremost, with an Xbox spin to it, but many of the Xbox related things, such as the UI/UX are eventually coming to all PC handhelds. In short, I don't think Microsoft actually named this product. ROG is an ASUS owned brand.
