Why Sisi won't lift the Gaza blockade
"Partially because he's weak, partially because he hates the Palestinians." Speaking to Middle East Eye, Egyptian journalist Hossam el-Hamalawy explained Egypt's refusal to lift Israel's blockade on Gaza and allow aid through the Rafah crossing.
Attributing Egypt's policy both to "regional decline" and Sisi's "cowardice", Hamalawy added that Egypt saw the Palestinians as a source of political instability and pressure for democratic governance rather than a cause to be supported.
Egypt is dependent on US money, 1.3 Billion annually. Sisi is just another US puppet. US loves to support dictators.
Former U.S. President Donald Trump was quoted calling Sisi "my favourite dictator".
