

So based on these, Xbox is still doing "physical" but no more discs.
They did the same with Avowed's Physical Release.

"Xbox Series / Windows" - I honestly think this is further linking into their Play Anywhere push, their physical copies may not come with a disc but they come with giving you access to the game on both Xbox and Windows which wouldn't be possible with a disc. If the next Xbox is some sort of PC hybrid then I doubt it has a disc drive at all (maybe an external one) because nobody uses discs on PC.
That and physical is tiny on Xbox now, Xbox Series is now 91% digital and was 90% last year.
But it definitely feels like they're furthering the merger of Xbox and PC.
At some point these "physical" copies will likely just be called "Xbox PC" in branding if the next Xbox is a Xbox/PC hybrid.
