SOFTWARE & DRIVERS
NVIDIA releases GeForce Hotfix 576.66 drivers fixing crashes and bugs in several games
https://videocardz.com/pixel/nvidia-releases-geforce-hotfix-576-66-drivers-fixing-crashes-and-bugs-in-several-games
We got used to seeing NVIDIA releasing hotfix drivers more frequenlty than before, but this release does not appear to be a major one. It does not focus on hardware crashes or fixes, rather it focuses on game related problems.
NVIDIA has rolled out GeForce Hotfix 576.66, which is built on the recent Game Ready Driver 576.52. This update targets specific stability and display issues affecting recent games and RTX 50 series GPUs. Among the fixes, players of Dune: Awakening, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and EA Sports FC 25 should see improved stability, as NVIDIA has resolved reported crashes tied to these titles.
The hotfix also addresses visual anomalies on RTX 50 series cards. In Dragon’s Dogma 2, shadow flickering has been corrected, while a separate issue causing brief red or green flash corruption during video playback in web browsers has also been fixed, according to the changelog:

Unreal Engine 5.6 Released, Packing Major New Features
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/unreal-engine-5-6-released-packing-major-new-features/

Epic cops to the Epic Games Store sucking for the 2nd time in a month as it proudly announces its money-hose has spaffed over $2 billion
https://www.pcgamer.com/software/platforms/epic-cops-to-the-epic-games-store-sucking-for-the-2nd-time-in-a-month-as-it-proudly-announces-its-money-hose-has-spaffed-over-usd2-billion/
I'm beginning to think poor Epic is developing some sort of complex. Nary a month after CEO Tim Sweeney took to the airwaves to admit that, yeah, the Epic Games Store sure is clunky, the store's general manager Steve Allison has taken to the stage (via GamesRadar) at yesterday's Unreal Fest to admit that "even after years of building the store on PC, we know there's still a ton of work to be done to deliver a world-class experience."
(...)
Still, Epic's forays into digital distribution are working out for some people: game studios. Epic says it's paid out over $2 billion to devs and publishers, all while giving the likes of you and me a bajillion free games I will probably never remember to actually play. Still, it's good to know they're there.

https://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/events-conferences/how-to-watch-the-pc-gaming-show-2025/
It's Summer Geoff Fest season, folks, and you know what that means: time for a concentrated jet of videogame news so intense it could strip the enamel off porcelain. And nowhere is that news more exciting, intriguing, and relentlessly PC-oriented than at the PC Gaming Show 2025, airing this Sunday, June 8.
You won't have to rely on co-ordinates to track down your friends in Minecraft thanks to its upcoming drop
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/survival-crafting/you-wont-have-to-rely-on-co-ordinates-to-track-down-your-friends-in-minecraft-thanks-to-its-upcoming-drop/
Minecraft has shared more details on what is coming in its second drop for 2025 in a post on the official blog, including its title—Chase the Skies. But, as excited as I am to take a trip aboard a Happy Ghast and appreciate the beauty of the world thanks to the Vibrant Visuals overhaul, one feature that I am thrilled the game is receiving as part of the update is the player locator bar.
Penguins confront Lovecraftian cosmic horror in the next game from the developers of Umurangi Generation
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/adventure/penguins-confront-lovecraftian-cosmic-horror-in-the-next-game-from-the-developers-of-umurangi-generation/
Umurangi Generation wasn't just a stylish cyberpunk photography sim. It was a meditation on climate disaster, an indictment of global capitalist hegemony—the kind of game that makes it a little surprising when you hear that developer Origame Digital's next project is called Penguin Colony, which involves playing as penguins with different abilities.
Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate's new exotics include the most powerful primary weapon I've ever used and gloves that enable one of the coolest player-requested abilities
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/destiny-2-edge-of-fate-exotics/
The chocolate box of exotic gear that comes with a new Destiny 2 expansion is always one of the biggest reasons to log back in. With The Edge of Fate expansion, which launches on July 15, the slate of new supercharged weapons and unique armour pieces feels particularly fresh—including one item, Melas Panoplia, which enables an ability that has been requested by Titan mains for years.
The Elder Scrolls Online's subclassing feature shakes up the meta in its newest update, Seasons of the Worm Cult, as the devs set their sights on harder difficulties: 'It's in the works'

The Elder Scrolls Online just had a huge patch drop yesterday—titled Seasons of the Worm Cult, this new update marks the start of a few key changes to the MMO, alongside a nice helping of content for current or returning players to sink their newly subclassed mitts into.
Dead Take is a first-person horror game out to expose 'the darkest secrets' of the entertainment industry: 'I want players to think, I can't believe they actually did this'
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/horror/dead-take-is-a-first-person-horror-game-out-to-expose-the-darkest-secrets-of-the-entertainment-industry-i-want-players-to-think-i-cant-believe-they-actually-did-this/
Just over a year after the release of its debut game Tales of Kenzera: Zau, Surgent Studios has unveiled its next project, and I don't know what I expected but it definitely wasn't this. Dead Take is a first-person psychological horror game the studio says "will peel back the entertainment industry’s glittering facade to expose its darkest secrets."
Please excuse my bad English.
