The best thing for Bungie in the long run would be delaying Marathon, even if Marathon fails, at least a delay would almost certainly get rid of Bungie's leadership, I had read before that there are certain revenue goals they need to meet otherwise they aren't entitled to bonuses and Sony can then take full control, if that is true then well, I'm rooting for a Marathon delay.
There's going to be short term pain for Bungie but this leadership has been dragging Bungie down for over a decade now. The only issue is finding a suitable replacement and I don't really think it should be someone from within Sony but rather someone promoted from within Bungie, there are still plenty of very talented employees at Bungie, plenty who have been with Bungie for over a decade and genuinely care for the studio, I fear an outsider would just cause more problems.
