This article mirrors what ryuu said a few posts up about how the civilian air traffic is being shut down to a greater degree lately. Ukraine has decided to focus its drones on attacking Russia's airports, not in an attempt to kill civilians, but to let the citizens know that this is a painful war that they probably won't be able to win. So, it's a great idea. Contrast that with Russia attacking civilian buildings in the past such as schools and hospitals. Ukraine's drones are just doign things like attacking planes and runways, so it won't really make them look bad on the international level. This should also force russia to pull EW and anti-air from the front in Ukraine, giving the attackers less of a chance to win.
