It's not cloud only. It's an app that you install locally, and everything is handled in the app. That's why they say Game Pass users rather than Game Pass Ultimate users. It's included in all tiers including Core. Pretty much how Nintendo currently handles their classic games on Switch.

Haven't tried Mechwarrior yet. I didn't even know there was a PSX version lol I only ever knew it as a PC franchise till the most recent release a couple years ago. But unfortunately that is the thing with retro games. Controls have not aged well at all lol. I've only played Pitfall so far and it's definitely frustrating.

Well I played before the comment and the game(s) have some lag or feel like they have lag and it always takes a few seconds before you start a game it feels like it is streaming (doesn't help the app + games is relatively small giving the impression of being could based).

Antstream Arcade has a promotion going on 9 Euro/Bucks or whatever for a year on xbox.

Yeah I did notice the lag. Maybe there is streaming going on directly with Antstream's servers for the games and only the app itself is installed? That could be how it's available for all GP tiers.
