The level design, the menu system, the spells, even the OST and structure of the game is a JRPG. It has more in common with JRPGs than with the rest of them. Honestly I don't see the harm calling it a JRPG.
It feels like one, that's honestly all that matters.
If a chinese dev makes a rpg that plays like a wrpg, calling it a wrpg isn't a issue for me either (even if its not made in the west).
