This is going to eventually happen across all gaming products which are subject to 'market conditions' (ie tariffs).
Was expected to happen. Is now happening. Will be happening more.

$80 titles were obviously happening the second that Nintendo decided to start doing them but in all reality, if it wasn't Nintendo who went first, it would have been someone else to open the floodgates, like I think even if Nintendo didn't increase to $80 there was still absolutely zero chance that Take-Two wouldn't for GTA 6 and they'd signal to all other publishers to do the same.
Hardware increase was obvious too, Xbox hardware is made in China, they already make a loss on Xbox hardware, Xbox won't take an even bigger loss because of Trump's stupidity. Sony will do the same soon (and have already increased in Europe). Once the stockpiles of already built hardware are out the window and the new stockpiles come in which have been hit by tariffs.
Though yes, this will obviously hurt Xbox hardware by a lot, their choice is take massive losses or sell less. People are struggling to pay for basic goods like food and energy, many sure as shit won't spend this much on hardware devices. This must be the first gen where hardware prices actually went up multiple times, I'm glad I got an Xbox Series X at launch (and Game Pass) because this is frustrating as hell.
Thanks Trump. Orange Twat.
