So kind of interesting thing that happened.
Yesterday I was trying to play the new Oblivion remastered game as well as Tempest Rising for the first time with the latest driver and it kept crashing on me at startup. I tried reinstalling the driver, doing a clean driver install, restarting pc, verifying files and etc but nothing will make it work. So I thought maybe this is all the bad drivers from Nvidia that people have been reporting and it happened to me too. Older games run just fine and so does Marvel rivals but these two games kept crashing at startup for some reason. So I tried reverting back to the old recommended driver of 566 but the issue was still the same at which point I thought, well these two games came out after that driver so maybe that's why.
But before I gave up, I was thinking to myself, you know what I haven't updated in a long time? The CPUs chipset driver and there have been interesting cases in the past where even though the issues were technically GPU related, CPUs were to blame as with Intel. So I was like, f it, let me install the recent X670E chipset driver and try it out. And would you know? That fixed the issues and now both games are running smooth af without any crashes.
