A teenager is between 12-16. From 16 to 18 you´re an adolescent. 19 is considered adult. No most of them don´t pass for teens, you´re getting confused by the graphical style that you´re not used to.
Now, as far as the whole "save ..." notion, it´s an integral part of all RPGs. This is from where excitement and eventually epic-ness arouses. It could be the more conventional "save the world" with various variations like "save your tribe", " save the universe", "save yourself and frieds", "save your country" along with other similar notions like "regain ..." which is similar to "save ..." . The only distinctive part there could be is in RPGs giving you the option of "destroying ..." the contrary of "save ...".
