I think most of the people complaining about $80 Mario Kart are the kind to either buy consoles at launch. In which case Mario Kart is actually 40-50 since you would get it in a bundle. Or they weren’t going to buy anyway and just like to complain.
Personally I am willing to spend 80 for some games, Zelda, 3D Mario, Gta 6, Fable. But it’s a pretty small group.
Edit: This doesn’t mean the general audience cannot also feel like the pricing is too high. But online discourse doesn’t tell me anything one way or the other.
