The new team-up abilities for Marvel Rivals Season 2 mean there are a bunch of fresh terrors roaming around the competitive scene. So now you don't just have to look out for Spider-Man or Iron Fist—there are new overpowered characters on the block.

Space Marine 2 gets a new mission, weapon, boss fight, and big gameplay changes in its latest major update

Saber and Focus promised in March that the announcement of Space Marine 3 did not spell the end of Space Marine 2, and that in fact "more awesome content" for Space Marine 2 is still in the works. And here we are, as promised: The Trygon Update, with a new PvE mission, boss fight, and more Space Marine stuff, is now live.

Surprise! RuneScape: Dragonwilds has launched into early access only two weeks after its first trailer was released

Jagex has launched its open world survival crafting game, RuneScape: Dragonwilds, into early access, even though it was only shown for the first time on March 31. Ahead of its release, a developer update livestream was scheduled to share some more details on the game, including its coveted release date, but little did we know that release date would be right now.

Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 added a busted new spell that gives Fighters better smites than Paladins—and it's only a cantrip

Baldur's Gate 3's Patch 8 arrived today, and Larian's last major update risks sending us all back into a fresh Faerun frenzy more than a year and a half after release. Its flashiest additions are the suite of new subclasses, but there's one new spell that promises to become a fast favorite for any melee character. Let me introduce you to Booming Blade. You're going to get along very well.
>> The patch has also added the Hexblade.

Guild Wars is 20 years old now, and that means it's time for a content update and 'the biggest discount in Guild Wars' history'
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/mmo/guild-wars-is-20-years-old-now-and-that-means-its-time-for-a-content-update-and-the-biggest-discount-in-guild-wars-history/
Somehow, the fantasy MMO Guild Wars is 20 years old: It launched in 2005 and it's still ticking over today. That's an impressive accomplishment by any measure, and ArenaNet isn't letting the anniversary pass unnoticed. The studio has rolled out a new content update that makes a range of previously-inaccessible promotional items from the early days of Guild Wars available to everyone, and there's also a new edition of the game that includes, well, everything, that's on sale until the end of April.

Arc Raiders, the extraction shooter that might finally bring the genre to the masses, is holding a new playtest at the end of April

The extraction shooter discourse has been dominated in recent days by Marathon, Bungie's upcoming kick at the can, but there's another game in the mix with the potential to steal its thunder: Arc Raiders, which PC Gamer's Jake Tucker said in 2024 "could be the extraction shooter that finally brings the genre to the masses."
Whether or not that happens remains to be seen, but we'll all move one step closer to figuring it out on April 30, which will mark the kickoff of a new Arc Raiders tech test, its largest playtest thus far.

The latest Elden Ring Nightreign character reveal is an aging viking whose hobbies include swigging ale and punching dragons in the jaw

One of my favorite things about Souls games is that sometimes the best method for dealing with tragic, corrupted knights and primordial horrors is simply hitting them very hard with a large object. It's an ideal embodied by the Raider, the subject of Bandai Namco's latest Elden Ring: Nightreign character reveal trailer, who seems just as comfortable using himself as a bludgeoning implement as anything else.

I can't believe I'm saying this but Skull and Bones Year 2 is real, and it's live now
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/action/i-cant-believe-im-saying-this-but-skull-and-bones-year-2-is-real-and-its-live-now/
I had a lot of fun over the years with Skull and Bones—all before it came out, that is. It grew from a simple idea—Assassin's Creed: Black Flag's naval battles made multiplayer—into a bona fide white whale for Ubisoft, which struggled so mightily to get it released. And when it finally showed up, seven years after it was first announced, it was fine, and quickly forgotten by most of us.
But Skull and Bones is still floating, people are still playing it, and yes, the rumored second year of content is now officially underway. New features in Skull and Bones year 2 season 1 include Item Ascension, which enables players to upgrade their gear with base damage boosts and unique modifiers, as well as the addition of a new world tier, with greater challenges and better reward drops.

'It was always an option': Overwatch 2 devs reveal that going third person isn't as big a leap as some players think
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/third-person-shooter/it-was-always-an-option-overwatch-2-devs-reveal-that-going-third-person-isnt-as-big-a-leap-as-some-players-think/
Overwatch 2 Stadium is a pretty impressive break from the norm, with it shrinking down maps and objectives, adding a best-of-seven round format, and, of course, having a third-person option. Though this last feature may seem slightly jarring at first, given that Overwatch has been a staple FPS for so long, it's not an entirely new idea.
"[We] toyed with it in Overwatch 1 at certain points, just internally, little prototypes and stuff," senior game designer Dylan Snyder says in an interview with The Gamer. "When we animate, there's a first-person version and a third-person version, and [it] has always been that way since day one. So it was always an option."

'I'm honestly scared to go to sleep': Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's hardcore mode is finally here for anyone who wants a 'tougher slice of medieval life'
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/im-honestly-scared-to-go-to-sleep-kingdom-come-deliverance-2s-hardcore-mode-is-finally-here-for-anyone-who-wants-a-tougher-slice-of-medieval-life/
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's 1.2.4 patch introduces a couple of bug fixes, like rebalanced shop prices for herbs and a new bald hairstyle for Henry. But let's be serious, no one's getting out of bed for those features (well, maybe the new hairstyle), when the real kicker is the new hardcore mode that's tacked onto the patch as well.
"Hardcore mode is here, and it's not for the faint of heart," the patch notes say. "You won't see your location on the map. You won't fast travel. You won't get surrendering enemies, visual cues in combat, or even basic directions, unless you earn them."
