I'm pretty sure there's sepculation that Ghost of Yotei is early September too. Honestly, this just sounds like a Bungie issue: they're allowed to do their own thing but it does seem like Marathon is unaffected by the reeling in Sony did of the team a few months ago. I'd wager that Marathon is really the final thing the team is doing before being fully absorded by SIE, unless Marathon is a massive breakaway success that allows them to prevent that. That said, I think Marathon looks cool. But I'm also not the target audience for for paying for this sort of content. I haven't even bought Astrobot or FF16 yet, because I need them both to be on deeper discounts, which tells you how and where I'd rather put money if i can get a game. |
I don't have any problem with PS fans not being interested in Marathon. My problem is with the haters who want everything free or everything has to be sexualized or just because it's a service they call it Concord 2 when it's actually Concord 3 because the same people called Intergalactic "another Concord" lol.
It's hard for me to expect Sony to totally absorb Bungie because that would mean Marathon didn't do that well, hopefully there is a middle ground where Marathon is actually successful but it doesn't reach an unrealistic goal set by the Bungie's CEO so they don't need to fire anyone and Sony can take more control. In theory after the last round of layoffs Sony took the majority of the seats in Bungie's board of directors.
Early September sounds like a good guess for Yotei. Personally I would love if it releases in August, first half, I was pretty sure DS2 was a July game but it actually releases in June so they have July and August free to release stuff before Borderlands, Marathon and the GTA Vortex.
