I bought a Vita and was super impressed with the hardware but I also learned that I have very little interest in mobile gaming. I kind of considered the Switch because I have a good deal of downtime at work but I went with a tablet instead and I'm pleased with that. When I had to wait somewhere, I found that I much preferred bringing my Kindle. Sony also made major mistakes with the wrong kinds of games and some bad decisions, like the memory cards. They would really need to prove to the public that they've learned some lessons.
If they go that route, they seriously need to leverage their position with Kadokawa to create more gatcha type games with popular anime/manga IP. The type of stuff that people like to play on their phones, only better, and maybe bring back their Monster Hunter clone.
