In fairness though it wasn't just forum users underestimating it, experts in the field were projecting a $50m opening, they were wrong by more than double, as it is now projected for a $130m+ opening, Lmao. I didn't understand why some thought it would flop, or why the opening projections were so wrong, but I will say that I doubt $1bn now, despite it smashing projections, I think it will have a steeper drop at some point when all the kids and hardcore Minecraft fans are out of the way, I think it'll fall short of $1bn but it will definitely be making a good profit for Warner Bros who desperately need one right now given the absolute mess the company is in, Lol.
