Maybe they should of teamed up with developers instead... released a few more games?
The majority of 360 top sellers are also available for the PS3 and the PS3 has more exclusives amongst its top sellers than there are amongst the 360's top sellers. Some of these top sold multi-platform games are slightly better on the PS3 and others slighly better on the 360 due to development being lead on that console (year headstart on the market). The differences with regard to multi-platform games so far have been minor, despite what some fanboys would like to believe. The technically most impressive games this generation so far are already on the PS3.
Sony is helping 3rd parties a lot, helping them to adapt their game engine with more modern and efficient approaches, sharing knowledge and even code.
Other than that they are developing many of the most promising games and services for the console.
