5. FF12 - Great for exploration, Combat and Hunts
4. FF6 - Great ensemble cast. Arguably the best villain. Great Writing. Great music (even for Final Fantasy). Great twist about 2/3 of the way in.
3. FF10 - Competes as my favorite cast of characters. Only voice acted Final Fantasy that Sakaguchi worked on.
2. FF9 - Fun, whimsical, and a very polished experience from beginning to end (except the card game).
1. FF7 - Best cast. Best OST. Competes with 6 for the best villain. Materia system is super fun. Lots of optional late game content. Also, the fact that you can subtly pick your date gives a greater emotional impact later for that character's key story moments. One of the most brilliant games ever made.
