At least 1 dead as US military renews strikes on Yemen
As we previously reported, the US military has carried out several strikes on Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen over recent hours, reportedly killing at least five people.
Now, Houthi-affiliated news outlet Al Masirah TV reports that US fighter jets have carried out more attacks, including a strike on a communications network in Jabal Namah, in the Jablah district of the Ibb governorate, that has killed one person.
US forces have also carried out two strikes in the Kitaf district in the Saada governorate, and a strike on the Kahlan area east of the city of Saada.

We have been reporting on the US military’s overnight attacks on Houthi-controlled parts of Yemen. Houthi-affiliated media now report that “American armed reconnaissance aircraft targeted a citizen’s car” in Saada governorate’s Majz district.

Houthis claim missile attack on US carrier, citing recent air strikes as cause
Houthi fighters claim to have attacked the US aircraft carrier USS Harry S Truman in the north of the Red Sea with several cruise missiles and drones.
According to the Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah TV telegram channel and SABA state news agency, the group said it struck the vessel in response to 36 raids launched by Washington “in the past few hours”. The strikes hit the Sanaa and Sadaa governorates, among others, resulting in an unspecified number of deaths and injuries, the reports said.
The attack comes a day after Al Masirah TV reported the killing of four people in US strikes on the Hodeidah region.
More than 60 people have been killed in Yemen since Washington launched a military offensive on March 15 against Houthi forces. The Yemeni armed group had threatened to renew attacks on Israeli-linked shipping in the Red Sea in response to Israel’s breaking of the ceasefire in Gaza.
The Pentagon also announced this week that the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier will join the USS Harry S Truman in the Middle East, increasing the number of US aircraft carriers deployed in the Middle East to two.
There has been no comment yet from the US Army’s Central Command on this incident, but we will keep you updated.
