US military carries out 17 strikes on Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen
The US military has bombed Tahrir and Qiyada districts in the centre of the Yemeni capital Sanaa, resulting in damage to homes, according to Houthi-affiliated media outlet al-Masirah.
The outlet said the targeted areas are where many of the Iran-backed group’s leadership reside.
There have also been reports of US fighter jets carrying out attacks in the following areas:
- Two air strikes targeting Sanaa international airport
- Five air strikes on the Asayed area in Kitaf district in Saada governorate
- Two air strikes on Salem district in Saada governorate
- Three air strikes on Luhayyah district in Hodeidah governorate
- Three air strikes on Humaydat district in al-Jawf governorate
No casualties have been reported so far.
More US military strikes reported in Yemen
As we reported earlier, the US military has carried out strikes on several Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen over recent hours. In total, 37 separate strikes have now been reported, including eight targeting the Black Mountain area of Harf Sufyan District in Amran governorate.
Further US strikes conducted in Yemen, at least 7 people injured
Houthi-affiliated media outlet Al Masirah TV now reports that four more strikes have taken place in the Majzar district in Ma’rib governorate. Five US strikes have also struck communications networks in al-Jabal al-Aswad, Harf Sufyan District, Amran governorate.
At least seven people have been injured across the country in tonight’s attacks, according to Al Masirah.

US hits dozens of Houthi targets in Yemen
US air attacks pounded more than 40 locations across Houthi-controlled parts of Yemen, including in the capital Sanaa.
Multiple residential homes and shops were damaged in the US attacks before dawn on Friday in the provinces of Saada, Marib, al-Jawf and Hodeidah, reported the Houthi-linked Al Masirah TV.
Other targets included the Sanaa International Airport, which is used for both civilian and military traffic.
