I will admit that I think it's strange that Sony don't just publish these games themselves. But I do think that this licensing makes sense for them and doesn't go against their current strategy. These are older games getting remasters, so Switch and PC releases aren't really unexpected.

Though, I feel like in some cases this makes a case against the very PS Classics programe they have going on. I dunno, it's just weird how it's all come together.

They are reworked bro. I know it's weird to say something like "Sony doesn't have the people to do this" but they actually don't lol, these games aren't going to sell a lot (until they do and Sony knows where to attack next) and they need work to even run on other platforms let alone the extra options implemented, Sony won't put their people to do that so it makes sense to let someone else do the job. Actually I would be concerned if they put someone like Team Asobi to work in these ports instead of doing something new lol.

And about the PS Classics, there aren't EGolf games in there and the Patapon games technically were made to sell on ps4. What I'm trying to say is not all classic games will get a remaster by Namco so it doesn't really collide with PS+ extra.

Yah I hear you and I agree with why it's happening.

But at the same time, I don't see what's stopping Sony putting their PS1/ PSP games onto PS Classics when they have the service already established. But either way, these are dormant IPs that are not going to sell consoles, so licensing them out is probably the best move here.
