MrBubbles, and WEWdeadyeyes posts are the exact reasons why I don't expect this game to sell as well as Lost Odyssey.

They do not represent every Amercian citizen.  How did you determine that this game won't sell as well as LO from what they said?  We should wait until the game gets released before we determine whether or not this will outsell LO.

Of course not, but I think its a good representation of the 360s demographics. While there may be some who don't care that it looks like an anime, most 360 owners, especially the ones exclusive to the 360 seem to be testosterone driven, Fps gamers, that wouldn't play anything that looks close to a tales game.

Blanket generalizations are fun!

These type of niche JRPG's tend to have lower sales in the US by default.  Being that the X360 is very US-centered and with only  "decent" sales in the EU I don't forsee this game having huge sales. If you think it will have higher sales than a more westernizied JRPG and one that was heavily marketed like Lost Odyssey I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment.  I would expect sales to be on par with maybe Blue Dragon to be honest.  One just needs to look at sales of previous games especially in the US since the 360 is only really strong there to know what to expect...

It's not the 360 demographic that is the problem, it's the American demographic.  It's funny that everytime a RPG has lower sales on the 360 it's automatically because we're all bro'skis in love with Madden & FPS's.  Kind of the same tired arguement that nobody buys Wii software that isn't published by Nintendo...  In the US it seems that if it's not a big Squaresoft release like Final Fantasy or KH then US sales are almost always mediocre.

Unfortunately, that is something that goes back a long ways.  In Japan, the development of animated arts was centered around adults or all ages, rather than kids.  In America, Disney really pigeonholed animation as something for "children only."  The 360 demographic has a slight influence, but I think more anime / jRPG fans are noticing as more of these titles come out.

Posts such as Lightning08 show that alot of us jRPG fans have bought or thinking about buying a 360.  Before, when it was all about Madden / Halo / Gears, it never even phased us.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
