Favourite series of Action-Adventure games?

Action adventure seems like it can pack in a lot of different games. Personally I would like to put a few games listed instead into the "Open world"-genre. I think it is mature enough to cut ties with the general action adventure games.

The problem is Open world isn't a genre by itself - BotW is open world, but No Man's Sky and Forza Horizon 5 are open world as well, and that's all they have in common.

I see your point. Might need another term for what people generally mean when they talk about open world games. 

To me BotW has more in common with No mans sky than the OOT-formula games in the same series. Might be a hot take, and my personal feelings around these games is not important for the general discussion on what a specific genre should include or not include.
