I'd wait until Steam compatibility is confirmed for the next Xbox before diving into hypotheticals lol.

I still don't see how it makes any sense for Microsoft. How exactly are they going to subsidize players who are using the Steam storefront? They certainly can't charge an online membership for those players or they kill any of the perceived value there. And Valve is certainly not going to give Microsoft a cut of every transaction on their storefront.

How about the traditional console users who decide to use the Microsoft storefront instead? Are they going to charge them an online fee but not others who decide to use Steam? That's a PR nightmare waiting to happen.
