We've only seen one random comment from one random retailer, supposedly in Sweden if random twitter person is to be trusted, on launch day of the products. I wouldn't put too much stock into it just yet. They may just be trying to drive FOMO.
One would hope if AMD is really supplying as many of these things as they claimed they would, it would actually begin forcing Nvidia's 50 series back down to earth soon. At least the 5070Ti and the 5080. I still don't know who the 5070 is intended for; right now it's probably more expensive than a 9070XT in most regions (certainly is here).
Edit: I can actually see right now some retailers are out of MSRP cards here, but they're already allowing pre-orders for the next shipment (end of April) at the same price of $1320 NZD. That's $50 cheaper than the launch price of PS5 Pro, so there's hardly any price-gouging going on here at least. It's within a forgivable margin.
Unless all the retailers complain that they aren't getting a steady supply of stock, then those price increases, whether this shipment of the next, are just some individual retailers taking advantage.
