Big game gets released for PS5, and hardware sales go way up. The funny thing about this is that this is the first time I can recall this happening for PS5 in Japan. For 2021-2023 and part of 2024 what we saw was hardware selling well every week and software selling like total crap. Then some big game would get released, and hardware sales seemed unaffected. Sometimes hardware sales would even go down when a big game got released. We are at the point now that scalping looks to be over, and hardware sales are actually affected by software now.
