What’s happened in the occupied West Bank today?

Wide-scale Israeli raids across the occupied West Bank are ongoing. Here is what the Palestinian Wafa news agency has reported today:

  • Israeli forces have detained six Palestinians, including a woman, during multiple raids in the Hebron governorate.
  • Israeli forces closed two side roads in the city of Nablus, further restricting movement in the area.
  • The Israeli raid on the city of Jenin and its refugee camp has now entered its 39th consecutive day. In total, it has resulted in 27 deaths, dozens of injuries, and extensive destruction of infrastructure and property.
  • The Israeli military raids on Tulkarem and its refugee camp have now entered the 33rd day, and the assault on Nur Shams camp has reached the 20th day.
  • At least 50 people were arrested in overnight raids, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society and the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs.

Activists have shared scenes that showed smoke rising from several buildings in the camp, east of the Tulkarem governorate in the northern occupied West Bank.

Palestinian media also reported that Israeli forces have been blowing up and burning down homes in the camp.

Tens of thousands of Palestinians have left their homes in the northern West Bank since Israel began its operation there last month.

Israeli forces target Red Crescent crew in West Bank’s Nur Shams camp

Israeli forces have targeted one of the Palestine Red Crescent Society’s crews with warning shots in the Nur Shams refugee camp just east of Tulkarem city.

“The targeting occurred despite prior coordination as the occupation forces prevented the crew from entering the area to evacuate [a] family,” the charity said.
