The thing about fabrication is that making chips tends to get cheaper on a per-volume basis, so AMD is at a definite disadvantage as they can't get bulk orders of silicon wafer discounts unless they contractually include their CPU's, VCACHE, Interposers and chipsets all into the same contract... Then that comes with implications with regards to release cadence and other potential side effects.

I think AMD needs to find a balance in terms of profit and volume, they can't be an "nVidia -$50 on price, but less than Intel on features" when it comes to their GPU's, it's never going to work.

I am happy to keep buying AMD Radeon just based on price, but I have zero interest in DLSS or Frame Gen.
