My point is while they've stopped producing blank ones they're gonna continue being in the BD business for now, probably for about another decade or so.

I agree that's debatable though I kinda doubt it but lets just wait and see what happens since it won't be that long till we know.

My point is that every game, film you buy on BD today was pressed on a "blank one". Film- and games BDs don't fall from the Sky.

Sony have not stopped producing blank Blu-Ray discs, they’ve stopped producing the very specific product of “Rewritable Blu-ray Discs” In their follow-up comments they even specified exactly what this means, and highlighted the Japanese Market as one where re-writable discs are still used regularly to record TV shows by consumers. It is just this product that is ceasing production, not all Blu-ray Discs. They will still produce the Blu-ray discs that are used for gaming, films etc.

Here’s an excerpt from an article about what they said and their follow-up statement:

As a result of Sony’s initial announcement, the internet has been abuzz with conclusions that the Blu-ray Disc format is ending. However, there is more to the story as a follow-up statement issued by Sony provides some additional clarification:  “In Japan, we have a unique culture of recording TV programs in the Blu-ray disc and we sell blank storage Blu-ray discs for this use only in Japan. The subject of this notification is these discs.
