they won't be able to. Tariffs and and economics instability is one things that can be salvage after a new and logical administration take place however the US have lost their status as World leader and they won't be able to get it back simply because no one else will be willing to see the US as such going forward.
World security, is something you absolutely need to be reliable and the US just shouted to everyone that they are not. It will takes decades for other countries to rely on the US again the same way they did up to now but by that time it's not certain the US will even be able to play that role again anyway.
