Monster Hunter Tri and why the switch to Wii

 Well you never know.  I mean look at the PSP sales since the monster hunter game came out for it.  This could have been the system seller that PS3 really needed in Japan.

 They are exactly the same as the sales of the PSP before Moonster Hunter was released. PSP has averaged 60k units a week in Japan since the PSP Slim was released. Monster Hunter currently has little to no effect on the sales of the PSP.
