Sometimes - not often - a game i consider mediocre ended up being pretty satisfying in the second half, so it feels worthy to having given it a shot.

I feel compelled to finish a game, even if it's mediocre. It's the completionist in me.

Also, games can get better or worse as you go. If I had given up on Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin after a few hours, when it was still clunky and tedious, I would have missed out on one of my favorite games of all time.
