But it run like crap because Nvidia nerfed it so it only worked well on its GPUs.

The thing is: when was the last time a game advertized PhysX as a selling point? Ages ago. It no longer matters and Nvidia has decided that it's no longer worth it to spend time on it.

It's the problem of propietary tech, instead of open source.
