In the recent years, I've been increasingly thinking that our education system is outdated for the complex society of today and the adversaries we have. We need more critical thinking and capability to understand complex situations, the big picture, and think in the long term, as well as capability to adapt. I don't think we would be in this situation if people were more capable of thinking.

I think we need media classes in school which revolve around spotting fake news, how to properly read information and fact check things, not to believe every single thing you see in a 30 second TikTok video, along with as you said, critical thinking skills, long term thinking and bigger picture and the overall dangers of social media. The way Twitter and especially TikTok has managed to poison minds by spreading bullshit is really dangerous, nowadays people aren't reading anything, they're getting all their information from a 30 second TikTok video from some random guy in his basement.

We can't just sit back and do...nothing about Twitter and TikTok spreading bullshit, something has to be done now, if things continue then social media will become one of the biggest mistakes in modern history and set humanity back significantly, I do legit believe that social media is making people on average dumber and easily tricked and it's a driver of fascism. If EU won't ban Twitter/TikTok then they need to do something else drastic, as I said, Twitter is now an arm of America's Republican Party and TikTok is an arm of China's CCP and what does EU have? Nothing.

Also I feel like the way we teach history should be altered a little, I know in the UK I was taught a lot about WW2 in my school, I think that's still the case but it was almost entirely about the war itself, what was missing was what came before, we need to teach people more deeply what led to the Nazis gaining power, the signs of fascism, the political environment which led to fascism, not just the actual war itself but the signs of fascism and how the Nazis gained their power. We have far too many dense motherfuckers nowadays saying that the Nazi's were communists.
