Avowed is awesome. Feels like a game designed by people and not telemetry. Really impactful and cool combat. Fun discoveries (hidden rooms, caves and secrets about the world and the characters) are everywhere and rewarding to uncover.

I also love its approach to player freedom. You can go anywhere, but the world will push back hard so you can't survive anywhere. It's up to you to determine how you get strong enough.

And also, to be kind of a shit, I think the complaints about being underleveled and not having the right gear, mostly come from games like these being streamlined to the point where they usually have no friction. The obstacles in this game aren't just tolerable, they're the main reason I love it.

Players can toggle between First Person and Third Person camera perspectives by holding the Right Stick on the controller or the U key on the keyboard in Avowed.
