In a statement, Microsoft said on Wednesday that Bredin had made the decision to step down “to focus on personal goals outside of work.” She had been made studio head in 2023, after joining the company two years earlier. As per Variety, Microsoft Gaming‘s Kayleen Walters will take over at Mojang. Currently, Walters is vice president and head of franchise development at Microsoft’s gaming division. Walters will be based in Redmond and travel between Redmond and Stockholm “frequently”, it’s claimed.

I'm in full support of WFH but this seems like a fucking stupid idea, Lmao.
It'd be one thing if they were taking over a smaller role, but being the studio head of a studio which is in a completely different country, sounds stupid, the level of responsibility and they aren't even going to be there half the time, it doesn't matter how many times they fly over, they will never be there enough and if they plan to online communicate, Sweden is 9 hours ahead of Redmond.
If they fly a lot then they'll rack up those carbon emissions that Microsoft pretends to care about, Lmao. Could they really not find a single soul in Sweden to take over? I know Mojang has a studio in Redmond but that's more MS Minecraft and Sweden has always remained the core, the HQ and the decision maker. I hope this is a temporary position until they find someone more suitable.
