Meanwhile...

As someone who enjoys watching Matt Easton's videos, it is a delight to see actual HEMA practitioner, archeologist and antique dealer talking about this game and giving it thumbs up when it comes to authenticity of combat.

KCD2 might look like mainstream AAA action-RPG, but, just like original, it's really not in lots of aspects - which might be either plus or minus, depending of what you're looking for (a major plus for me).

I’m sure that as that dude says, they consulted people and made some authentic looking combat for the time. But as even that dude says, it’s all too slow. My issues with the combat are it’s too slow, none of it shows any oomph or impact, and there’s virtually no gore. Combat is important in an RPG to me. So again, no thanks. But I hope y’all enjoy it.

Apparently, it was made slower than the first game on purpose to ease-in new players...I'm guessing they will add option for "original" speed, since my guesstimate is fans of the first one won't be very happy about combat being slower in sequel.

As for combat in RPGs - it used to be that "Western" made RPGs (of non turned based nature) didn't really bother to be action games, so if you grew up with that mindset, combat in KDC is not only serviceable, but actually very satisfying. If you got into them with more modern games, where lot of them are action-adventures with RPG coat of plaint, they, yeah, I can see how this combat can be off-puting. But to each its own.
